Fondazione Italcementi Cav. Lav. Carlo Pesenti
Carlo Pesenti (1907-1984), the son of Augusto and one of the six brothers who established the company "Fratelli Pesenti fu Antonio", is the third generation in the 140 year-long history uniting the Pesenti family with the Italcementi Group.

Graduated with an engineering degree from Politecnico di Milano, he was presented by the Italian President with the country’s highest honor - "Knight of the Order of Labor Merit" (Cavaliere del Lavoro), in 1962.
Carlo Pesenti was appointed to the Board of Directors of Italcementi in 1940.
In 1942, he was appointed General Manager and Managing Director of Italcementi and in 1967 he also became the company's Chairman. In 1946 he reorganized the Group into four branches: Italcementi continued focusing on its cement core business, Sacelit headed the cement-based construction elements sector; CIDI was active in the hydrated lime industry whilst all the financial participations were concentrated in the hands of the newly incorporated Italmobiliare.
Appointed General Manager of Italmobiliare since it was founded, he became Managing Director in 1955 after this position had been created, and eventually Chairman in 1967. Carlo Pesenti was one of the leading industrial and financial figures in Italy in the post-war period.

He promoted the Group's development by sustaining the growth of cement-related activities and undertaking diversification through Italmobiliare.
The dynamic character of Carlo Pesenti in the industrial and financial world is also confirmed by the fact that already in 1952 he was on the Board of Directors of 28 companies, whilst in 1960 his presence rose to 38 Boards of Directors falling to 33 in 1972 (amongst these, over the course of the years, let us remind here Falck, Bastogi, IBI, Banca Provinciale Lombarda, Ras, Efibanca, and Franco Tosi).
